What is Peripheral Neuropathy?
An estimated 30 million people in the United States have some form of peripheral neuropathy, a condition that develops as a result of damage to the peripheral nervous system — the vast communications network that transmits information between the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord) and every other part of the body. (Neuropathy means nerve disease or damage.)

Complications of Neuropathy
The complications associated with neuropathy vary depending on the cause of the nerve damage. Some neuropathies can be fatal. In fact, one of the most common causes of death in people over the age of 60 is due to a fall due to balance issues caused by numb feet. Falls can also lead to broken hips and concussions. Other complications include foot ulcers (open wounds) that develop on the skin and can't heal due to the lack of blood supply to the affected area, walking and balance issues from being unable to feel the feet, trouble sleeping due to pain or tingling, gangrene (tissue death) which could lead to amputation. Early diagnosis and treatment of neuropathy may be able to prevent these and other complications from occurning.

Dr. Shawn Richey, D.C. was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated from North Hills High School. In August 2003, he graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree and a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology.
In 2013, Dr. Shawn redirected his practice to focus primarily on helping those who have been afflicted with Peripheral Neuropathy. Realizing that nearly 30,000,000 people suffer from this devastating disease and have been told there is no hope, he has devoted his studies and research to develop a program that utilizes a combination of brand new technologies that address the causes rather than the symptoms.
